Meet Our Instructors
Shannon

Meet our Owner - Shannon. Shannon has been training pole fitness since 2011 and originally took up the sport as an alternative to the gym - self learning at home. She has no dance background and started her aerial journey as an adult. After suffering with crippling anxiety and panic attacks, pole gave her a purpose to get out of the house and go to classes when some opened in 2012. After gaining confidence in herself, she was offered the opportunity to become an instructor at the studio she was learning at, in 2013. She fell in love with training and teaching others and also started learning different aerial disciplines. She then opened WA&F in 2015 at Aspire Ryde. In 2025 Shannon and fellow dance instructor Isabelle opened their studio, Studio 33! Shannon teaches Pole (fitness and choreo), Flexibility, Aerial Hoop and Aerial Silks! She has performed at many shows on the island and festivals over the UK also.Shannon has many certifications under her belt from X-Pole, Spin City & Train Fitness which she likes to refresh and keep up to date. She does a new course almost every year to keep on top of the latest safety and safeguarding updates.
She has trained with Champions across the globe and regularly goes across the water for workshops to learn and bring the best back to the studio for her students.
Emma

Emma started Aerial Hoop back in 2014, which then ignited a passion for the aerial arts. She then started training Aerial Silks in 2015. She has dabbled in pole, trapeze and many other aerial arts over the years.Emma has performed in shows and competed in aerial competitions across the UK since 2015. She came second place in IPAAT in 2016 with a beautiful aerial hoop routine!Emma moved to the Isle of Wight in 2019 and found new places to train and practice, WA&F being one of them. Emma then decided to share her love of hoop, in particular, and became an instructor for WA&F in 2021. Emma also is certified in flexibility and is a qualified yoga instructor. She does her own yoga classes at Studio 33 on Saturday mornings under Earth Star Yoga.Emma loves creating dynamic aerial hoop routines with dramatic drops. Her classes are full of creative combos and shapes. Her favourite moves are beautiful balance poses in and on the hoop.
Erin

Erin started her pole and aerial journey back in 2015 with Wight Arts & Fitness. She fell in love with the arts and was attending almost every session we did! She started performing with our performance team and realised that this is something she absolutely loved to do and wanted to pursue. She wanted to further her passion by sharing it and became an assistant instructor with us in 2024 and then passing her Instructor training in 2025 to be able to teach her own classes.Erin absolutely loves super fast spinning pole tricks and combinations. Her classes are full of unusual shapes and combinations!
